Running XP Sp3 on a C2D machine with 9600GT card. When the client, or the project, is suspended by the Boinc Manager, the client continues to run, even though it shows suspended in the Boinc Manager, and want should be running, has the running status, but of course has 0% progress as the FightMalaria client is still using all the CPU.
Is this a bug that's being worked on, or am I mising something here?

Yep, it's a known bug. We were working on a fix but got side tracked by credit issues. We should have an update to correct this in the next two weeks.
Thanks,
Kevin

This happens to me also, but the tasks eventually stop at around 10 minutes after they were suspended.

Sorry for the delay. I should really stop trying to put a time frame on bug fixing as it always seems to take longer than expected :P I will be testing a fix this Saturday afternoon and if successful I'll be updating the app then.
Regards,
Kevin

Thanks for working on this. I have overheating problems with my laptop and not being able to suspend (via batch file) quickly means CoreTemp puts it into sleep mode. I've had to kill processes to bring the temps down.

What's the deal with the heat? Between a vacuuming out and switching the power plan, I got the temps on my laptop to drop by 20°C.

OK, an i7 CPU Q 720. Use two or four less threads (not one or three) and you should be good to go, after a visit from the aforementioned vacuum cleaner!

Ok, I have a fix for this. At least it works on my test machine.

It's pretty late in the evening to be making changes to the live server. If something were to go wrong it will be a good while before I could fix it. I'll add the new app at some stage this coming week.
Thanks for pointing bug this out,
Kevin

Good idea. Perhaps you could set the account project preferences page to include the option to receive test units/apps. Users can then opt in, or opt out if it's causing them problems.

I've released a new version of the app which addresses this issue on my test machines. Let me know if it works for you.
